Veterans now have their marching orders for the 57th Honor Flight

Dozens of veterans now have their marching orders for the 57th mission of the Great River Honor Flight. Organizers went over the trip’s itinerary on Saturday at Hannibal LaGrange University and gave each veteran their t-shirt and hat for the trip. Veterans like Tom and Rosie Hendrix, who met and got married while they were in the Air-Force during the Vietnam era, say they’re excited for the trip. “[After signing up] I kinda forgot about it and then all of a sudden there was a cancellation in the springtime, and they said you can go now and I said okay,” said Tom. “I actually didn’t apply but he listed me as someone he would like to take with him, so when we got the call they knew I was a veteran and served during the Vietnam war so that allowed me to be able to go on the trip,” said Rosie. The veterans head out to DC this Thursday for the last honor flight of the year.
